The close up of the peach rose that is so cool looking and big!

To mimic it use a rose, already open, and gently, with your thumb and forefinger, turn under the rose petals starting with the outside petals, working your way all around the rose and then moving on to the next row of petals.....you'll most likely only get four or so rows finished before it becomes too difficult, at that point stop before you break any petals....some roses, that have less petals, can be worked all the way down to the base but it depends on the look and style that you're after.

When I first spoke with Katilen, she had a clear vision of her taste, but was not really sure how to translate that into flowers; couple that with being a few states away and having a really hectic job and you have the perfect recipe for stress!

We had about nine months or so to plan and as we work at her wedding venue often, The Sanford House in Arlington Texas, we knew just how to create the perfect mix of bohemian sheek! Katilen, told us about her personal taste and style, some of the key elements she wanted to incorporate, the colors she was using and let us go wild from there. It really is all about trust, especially when your vendors are so far away. Thank goodness for e-mail and cell phones!

Katlien and Sam love to play Scrabble and like rounder shapes so they created a great word find game to place on the tables using mason jars as table markers and pen holders which allowed us to incorporate a rounder design into all the details! Soooo cute!!!

For kaitliens bouquet we used purple sweet peas, peach sweet peas, Alehandro Roses, Peach Finease Roses, Peach Stock, Lavender lilac, Purple Anemones, bits of Purple Hydrangea and that big peach flower is an Amaryllis. (people often think they are just for Christmas, but there are not! they are a really unique and spectacular display. Truly the perfect flower for a vintage twist! )

Since the girls were in a blue shade, we wanted to contrast a bit more, so we went PEACH with pops of plum! It really pulled the peach in from Kailtlins bouquet to keep everything looking cohesive and used, peach Fineas Roses, peach stock, lavender Sweet Pears and bits of Lilacs

The grooms’ bouquet was one of my favorite pieces! Kaitlin really wanted the overall look to be something no one had seen before, so she let me get a bit crazy. I think I actually made two for him, just in case he was not as enthused as I was, but he loved it! It was bits of grapevine twirled around clusters of wax flower with peach ribbon infused throughout.

OH, these were great! We just tied Allum, which is in the onion family to the pew chairs! Perfect sphere shape and funky, fun way to accent the guest isle chairs! Not to mention they were placed higher up, so we had the line of sight elevated a bit more than usual......which is great! We really do want to keep all eyes on the bride.

The centerpieces were all a bit different and continued the theme of branches, orbs and fun! We hung little Alum from the branches and surrounded the base of the arrangements with various flowers from the wedding.

Often folk, forget the base of the table, but not here! By using more mason jars and the word games we added bulk to the table making it look like much more was really on the table then there was, keeping the budget sane, yet the look clean.

The vases really make this pop! Anytime we can keep repetition within an event it adds that overall put together look....it really is the best way to pull in multiple elements without things looking "off" or "junky".

Anytime we can save money we love to, using the venues included, white garden chairs and linen was preferred. It is always best to work with the space, not try to work against it or waste a lot of money trying to make it something it is not. So, we incorporated white! Using it in the vases helped the tables look so perfect and kept that repetition that is so important!

The fountain was really one of those things that we were all so excited about! Kaitlin really wanted a way to remember those whom had past, yet not in such a traditional way. When I sketched the idea of the fountain, she just loved it! We took mason jars and filled some with flowers, others with candles and using a few giant branches created a remembrance piece that worked in the space. Not to mention we were able to decorate another of this great courtyards wonderful features!

The flower girl was so cute! Here we used purple spider mums, attached them to a branch and instead of the traditional basket the flower girl was able to pull blooms from the top of the ball and toss those! So fun!

Little hydrangea balls really add a pop here!

Elisa exudes natural beauty and she wanted her December wedding to reflect a bit of spring. We were thrilled to create natural style bouquets of yellows, greens, cream and bits of plum. We also incorporated bits of pine cones and weavedwillow through them.

Using flowers like, daffodils, iris, billy balls and few others we were able to use lots of little flowers to capture her taste and personality!

It is hard to see it, but Brads boutonniere was actually made of a pine cone base, two small succulents and few other flowers from the brides bouquet.

The great thing about the Sanford House is it's versatility! Above we did a modern theme for Courtney last year. She was able to have the garden sitting she always wanted, but with a fun twist!

Sara wanted a clean, romantic look with a bit of traditional garden romance.

What Inspires Us

We are often asked, "what inspires us" and here it is! Well this week anyway! We love, love, love going to the January Floral Market at the Dallas International Floral and Gift Show!

Buyers, wholesalers and manufacturers come from all over to shop, sell and participate in the many classes and events they hold during the 4 day event.

We spend several days perusing the hundreds of show rooms and temporary exhibits to find the latest trends!

Above, are tulips done in a spiral, it was truly a stunning display!

We love anything hanging, below they used orchids but it could be done with almost anything!

City Sheik with a Country Hart

Nina and Kyle had the perfect blend of a super sheik wedding with a country hart! Her bouquet was composed of Lisianthus, Stock, bits of Eucalyptus Torquata, Begonia and believe it or not a few snowy "White Candy" carnations for texture!

For Nina's mom, we used a keepsake bracelet and hand tied orchids onto it so that she would have a great woodsy keepsake!
